Heres my story .whats yours?
Like most people around my age, i never imagined Id be single and resorting to those dreaded dating sites, but here i am so, how did i get here? Well at age 45, after some years of marriage, my then wife decided to try someone new and try him repeatedly from what I understand. So yes, i found myself alone i tried the dating thing, but its weird when youre only seperated but not divorced so alone i remained. I kept up with my usual activities, going to the gym, hiking, a few bike rides etc. All things i could do alone. Then my friends said get a dog, at least you wont be alone! So i adopted a dog, yes shes the apple of my eye and i love her immensely! See! They said, you dont need a gf now lol! Right but i cant exactly take my dog to dinner or to a movie, or a concert, i mean shes a great companion, but difficult to really on a conversation with. So my friends said try a dating site! Well heck, nothing else was working so Ill give it a shot! Low and behold i managed to get a couple of dates! Didnt really pan out until I met M. Wow i thought, this woman is great! We dated for a few months, things seemed great, she got busy, i got busy, i got a text youre a great guy but not the guy for me. Huh?? Well maybe she wasnt looking for a great guy i dunno i scratched my head, deleted her number and swore off dating. Dont worry everyone said, when youre NOT looking thats when it happens! I kept thinking, maybe! Like in the movies! Ill hand the gas station clerk money, our hands will touch and sparks will fly! Or well bump shopping carts at the grocery store in the organic section, our eyes will meet and bells will ring and birds will sing!! Well life is seldom like the Lifetime channel Ive come to realize. So what the heck, try Match the great thing about dating sites is you can get rejected by hundreds of women almost overnight! Always good for the self esteem lol but i did meet a woman from out of town, we really hit it off! Turned out though she didnt like the distance, and shes not really a dog person, remember my dog, the one my friends told me to adopt so i wouldnt be alone? Ok, got off match too discouraged. When youre not looking thats when it happens! My friends said again ok Ill let the universe take care of finding "the one" i thought! Yeah stupid universe! A few dateless months later you gotta put yourself out there! My friends said, try a dating site! Umm really?? Well ok why not this rejection thing is fun! Well heck if i didnt meet someone! Had a few really nice dates felt like things were going great! Got a text youre a good person ,but youre not the person for me. Idk Maybe she wanted a bad person? So yeah .that brings me to now
Im a , fit, gym going 50 year old who gets constantly told how great i look and that I dont look 50 of course they dont tell me how old i do look just not 50 apparently keep in mind these are the same friends that tell me when you stop looking, thats when it happens and i gotta put myself out there!
